Another Kit Kat commercial that revives the idea of a jingle by employing real-world sounds.

The commercial jingle may seem like an outdated thing in our media-savvy era, but this Kit Kat advertisement revitalizes the idea. It employs everyday sounds associated with the candy as the raw material with which the familiar melody is performed. The sound sources aren’t merely the rip of the package and the crunch of the bite. Also included are everyday noises from the workplace, thus emphasizing the Kit Kat idea of serving as a break. From an artistic standpoint, it’s a nice latter-day employment of the sort of thing generally associated with the movies of Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. From a practical standpoint, it’s not that unthinkable that Kit Kat chewers might actually come to hear the theme in their heads next time they take a bite, and to have a positive association with it.
